Great performance for the first French Open of Oihan Guillamoundeguy
Invited to play in the French Open alongside six French amateurs, our young golfer Oihan Guillamoundeguy from Golf de Seignosse, shone on the Albatros course at the Golf National during the 2022 French Open which was held from 22 to 25 September.
Ranked 12th after the cut, he finished 45th at only 17 years old for his first experience at this level. He has grown from this experience and learnt a lot from the other players, especially in terms of course management during the practice rounds he did earlier in the week.
He is now focusing on the PQ2 which will be held from the 3rd to the 6th of November in Spain. Indeed, at the beginning of September, Oihan Guillamoundeguy was the only one of the 12 French players to qualify at the PQ1 in Portugal on the Montado Hotel & Golf Resort course. He then passed the first of the 3 stages leading to the DP World Tour.
The end of the season looks promising for Oihan!
His coach René Darrieumerlou
René Darrieumerlou began his career as a pro player, representing France in numerous European Opens alongside renowned players such as the Spanish Severiano Ballesteros.
He then became a coach for the French teams and was involved in teaching for more than 30 years as a pro. He was also in charge of the Hossegor Golf School. It was at this time that he met Oihan Guillamoundeguy and is now his coach at Golf de Seignosse.
